The music hall was opened to public in the year 1932. Currently the music hall has been leased to the Madison Square garden company. The hall was known previously to premier many shows of movies but now it focuses only on concerts and live stage performances. Aaron and I being big fans of pop music were very thrilled visiting this place. The music hall has hosted many rock concerts as well as pop performers in the last 40 years including icons like Madonna, Michael Jackson and Jennifer Lopez.
Radio city musical hall is also quite famous as it hosts many leading award functions as well as televised shows such as Grammy awards, Mtv Video music awards. The area open to general public features the art work of leading American and European artists.
Another stunning feature of the Radio City music hall is the Wurlitzer pipe organ which is also the largest theatre pipe organ built for a musical theatre. The auditorium and stage of the Radio City Hall has a seating capacity of close to 6000 people. It used to the largest movie theatre at the time of its opening. Today the music hall organises many premiers of movies like Harry Porter series or the Lord of the Ring series. The auditorium also hosted many seasons of Americas Got Talent in the past.
The visit to Radio City Music Hall was a very fruitful one. We decided to take some refreshments break before heading to our next destination which was the historic Madison Square Garden of New York.
