It seemed as if I found the right hotel to be in. As soon as we were shown into the spacious rooms, my husband and I immediately collapsed on our beds to take a nap. We were roused from our sleep with my son excitedly pointing to the services the hotel offers. We rubbed sleep from our eyes and looked at the brochure he had in hand.
Well it said –arrangements for Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve!!All of us forgot about resting and looked at each other with gleaming eyes. It just took a short while to make the arrangements and soon we were on our way to DDCR.
My love for nature enchanted me, as I breathed the cool desert air, far from the heat and bustle of Dubai city. It was heartening to see nearly 6000 trees planted here and the best success story of this reserve is, saving and rearing of the Arabian Oryx which was getting extinct.
All of us settled for the camel ride and sand dune boarding. By the time it was time to go to Bedouin camp the night was starlit. Gazing in wonder at the magical silence and calm of the desert was something which I had only dreamed of. The snacks offered were out of the world and we trooped into the pick-up van, after 5 hours of uninterrupted enjoyment, looking longingly at the enchanting ambience. Our pick up service arrived and we headed back in serene silence.
