The Killarney National Park located in Kerry, Ireland was my next travel destination continuing in the quest for natural beauty. Life as an event manager can become monotonic in the sense that one has to work within a large herd of people and with a materialistic perspective towards all things.
This is good for my profession but not for the well being of my soul, this is something which I have often considered and reflected upon in life. It is an imperative that every person should plan and organise their life in a way there is enough time and food for the soul. When I visited the Killarney National Park with my family it was a truly satisfying experience.

The Killarney National Park was the first national park of Ireland and was established way back in 1926. It is a cradle for the local biodiversity and was declared a biosphere reserve in 1981. The national park has the only herd of red deer natively found in Ireland. The beautiful sights of the Killarney National Park include lakes, mountain peaks, stretches of lush green field and Victorian architecture.
The Inisfallen Islands and the Ladies View point are two locations, which give the best sights of the National Park. The beautiful Purple Mountains and the Lakes of Killarney are both visible from the Ladies View. Boat trips are organised for tourists on the lake. The Ross islands, Sullivan’s Cascade and Tore Waterfall are other sites of interest.

Among more than a hundred locations of interest in the 25000 hectare Killarney National Park the locations and events which captured my imagination the most were the Victorian style Muckross Abbey, Old Weir Bridge where two streams meet with enigmatic beauty, and the Muckross Traditional Farms where the pre-1930’s rural Irish lives are recreated and beautifully illustrated.
While leaving the Killarney National Park my mind was filled with the images of the lush and intense Oak and Yew Woodlands. These forests often remind us of our inner selves and make us realize how closely we our connected to Nature and its manifestations. I resolved my mind by promising to visit the place again if given another opportunity.
